A New Dr. Jay Wile Science Curriculum

I have something super exciting to share today. If you subscribe to my Facebook page you may have seen the announcement about Dr. Wile’s brand new elementary science curriculum published by Berean Builders, Science in the Beginning.

Boo has used Dr. Wile’s junior  high curriculum the past two years and loved it. I received my copy of Science in the Beginning this week and I can’t wait to use it. Isn’t the cover just beautiful?

Science in the Beginning explores science by taking students through the creation week. A number of areas of science are included, such as light and color, water and air, botany, astronomy, and biology. The lesson design is similar in some ways to the junior high books. For example, each lesson includes narrative followed by a colored box containing an experiment:

The experiments use objects that are easily obtained, most of which we already have in our home. The list of supplies can be found at the beginning of the book. The curriculum is designed to be multi-level, so the lesson review includes three options, one each for “youngest”, “older”, and “oldest”.

Helps&Hints for Science in the Beginning is available as well.

This black-and-white teacher’s book includes experiment notes and helpful hints, as well as tests and test answer keys for those who desire to use a traditional test approach.

We have a week left before we start up our full school schedule, but I am not sure I will be able to wait. We might have to try a lesson or two next week!  Smile

(I am not an affiliate for this curriculum. We just really enjoy Dr. Wile’s books!)
